Art: Colorful Coos Bay, Art & Sol, Designs by Willow
Colorful Coos Bay is a watercolor painted in the summer of 1993 highlighting historical buildings in Coos Bay looking out towards the , Then produced as limited edition art prints and posters. A contest was conducted in August - September 1993, "0Name Coos Bay Buildings.".
Art & Sol was a small gallery opened about the same time on East Market Street, just off Highway 101, across from the Tioga Hotel. To attract for customers, we moved Art & Sol to a large house right on Highway 101, a quarter mile south of Fred Meyer. We offered life drawing classes and connected with the Coos art community and Coos Art Museum. We produced art videos featuring an artist, musicians and other acts for an on-air party broadcast on public access TV.
Those art galleries gave rise to the Art & Sol card line producing and marketing art for a dozen mainly west coast artists 1996 - 2001. The work of many fine artists were produced as cards and sold through stores nationally. One such artist is Willow Arlena.
