Colorful Coos Bay is an artist's impression of the Oregon Bay Area's scenic landscape and noteworthy architecture. Suitable to frame for your home or office.

The original painting is a watercolor on canvas. The scene portrayed is an aerial pictorial perspective of historical buildings in Coos Bay. In the distance, the ocean, lighthouse, boats and a freighter are visible.

The limited edition art print is archival to 100 years. this high quality art print will be a treasure in your home and for your family. Lithographed on acid free, 100-pound stock, prints are numbered and hand-signed by artist Susan Anderson.

Also available is the poster. The poster is great for more casual decorating in offices, stores and at home in family and kids' rooms. Posters are printed on quality 80-pound enamel-coated stock; a "travel poster" for Oregon's beautiful South Coast. The poster is headlined Colorful Coos Bay with vertical blue graphics on each side of the image.

 

Vintage Art

These vintage prints and posters were printed in Coos Bay at South Coast Printing in 1993 in collaboration with the Coos Bay Downtown Association and the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce. Many framed prints and posters hang in local banks and professional offices.

World Newspaper - Name Coos Bay Buildings Contest

A "Name Coos Bay Buildings" contest was held in the Summer of 1993.

The World published a story about the contest with a line drawing of the Colorful Coos Bay numbering the 34 buildings represented. A few of the buildings represented have since been demolished including:
8 - The former Key Keyes College andTraining Center (1970s-1990s) and before that the McAuley Hospital, built in 1925, demolished April 2018.

A few of the buildings still present include:
1 - Cape Arago Lighthouse
2 - Marshfield High School
34 - Tioga Hotel 

The first place winner received a mini-vacation at the Inn at Face Rock in Bandon, Oregon compliments of the Coos Bay Downtown Association.

Second place winner received a numbered artist's proof of "Colorful Coos Bay" signed by artist Susan Anderson. The contest was sponsored by South Coast Printing, the CBDA and The World.
